Operational origin traceability

Trace origin across every transformation.

OriginLink keeps source identity connected while materials are received, stored, combined, processed and sold—so your team can answer an origin question without investigating every plausible product flow.

Start alongside your ERP. Integrate only where it creates value.

Reduce the economic risk caused by the EUDR

Compliance alone does not limit the impact of the EUDR.

An issue can become known long after a supplier delivery has entered production. Your company may then need to locate the affected materials and products—and inform every customer who may have received them.

The EUDR in brief

Relevant products must be deforestation-free, legally produced and covered by the required due diligence documentation.

The main obligations apply from 30 December 2026; most micro and small operators follow on 30 June 2027.

Example without internal tracing

The affected source cannot be isolated after merging.

Inside the company

Every possible customer remains in scope

Untracked horizontal customer flow The selected shipment enters an uncertain merge. All five downstream customers must be treated as potentially affected. Untracked vertical customer flow On small screens, the uncertain flow runs from top to bottom and reaches all five customers.

Without precise traceability

What you cannot rule out remains potentially affected.

If your company cannot determine where a delivery was used, every product that could contain material from that delivery may need to be treated as affected.

This can extend from raw materials and work in progress to finished goods in the warehouse—and to every customer who could have received them.

Reduce the financial impact

Turn a potentially company-wide incident into a precisely contained response.

Find affected goods

Locate related materials, production batches and warehouse stock.

Identify the right customers

Determine which customers received potentially affected products.

Protect unaffected business

Avoid unnecessarily blocking inventory, production and customer shipments.

Example With internal tracing

The affected shipment is linked to one specific customer flow.

Inside the company

Only the linked customer flow is affected

Tracked horizontal customer flow The selected shipment passes through a recorded merge and reaches exactly one of five downstream customers. Tracked vertical customer flow On small screens, the recorded flow runs from top to bottom and reaches one customer.

With OriginLink

Contain the incident instead of expanding it.

OriginLink connects each incoming delivery with the production steps, inventory and outgoing shipments through which its materials flow.

Your team can identify the potentially affected goods, inform the correct customers and keep unaffected products moving.

Four production-floor actions

Your team handles the goods. OriginLink maintains the trace.

Employees use short OriginMarker IDs and QR codes. The SaaS preserves the parent-child relationships created by every logistics and production step.

01

Register incoming goods

Connect the delivery to its supplier, applicable DDS or declaration reference, origin data and optional documents.

02

Combine OriginMarkers

Scan every contributing lot or intermediate product when materials are split, joined or transformed.

03

Apply the new marker

OriginLink creates a successor OriginMarker and routes the label to the relevant printer.

04

Connect the dispatch

Link finished goods to the business customer and delivery—using OriginMarker IDs on outgoing units.

Built for the gap between spreadsheets and ERP transformation

A practical control layer for mid-sized production.

OriginLink provides dedicated origin traceability without requiring companies to replace the systems that already run their production.

Decision factor Manual tracking OriginLink Advanced ERP / WMS
Best fit Low transaction volumes and straightforward material flows Complex, highly integrated operations with broad digital transformation requirements
Implementation effort
1/5 Limited technical setup; processes are defined and maintained internally
5/5 Typically part of a broader systems integration or transformation programme
Initial investment
1/5 Low direct software investment; primarily internal process effort
5/5 Substantial investment may be required for software, integration and implementation services
Operating cost
4/5 Software cost is limited, but recurring personnel effort increases with volume and complexity
5/5 Licensing, infrastructure, integration and specialist support may contribute to total operating cost
Operational effort
5/5 Repeated data entry, reconciliation and manual maintenance
1/5 Highly automated when traceability is fully integrated into core processes
Incident response
5/5 Relevant material flows, inventory and deliveries must be reconstructed manually
1/5 Integrated lot, inventory and order data can support rapid investigation
Regulatory change management
5/5 Procedures, templates and controls must be maintained internally
3/5 Changes may involve configuration, implementation partners or additional integration work
Across companies
5/5 Supplier information must typically be transferred and entered again
3/5 Cross-company exchange can be supported through supplier portals, EDI or system integrations

Ratings provide a qualitative comparison of typical deployment models and are intended for general orientation. Actual effort, cost and capabilities depend on existing systems, process complexity, integrations and implementation scope.
